First Listen: The Bling Ring Official Soundtrack

Find out about this summer's teen flick - The Bling Ring...

The teen movie of the summer is almost upon us, and it features Emma Watson and a pretty DAMN GOOD soundtrack. The Bling Ring follows a group of vapid, fame-hungry teens as they chase popularity by ram-sacking celebrities’ homes in LA. The plot is based on a real-life Bling Ring, which existed in 2009. The teens obsessed over their favourite celebs that they considered as ‘style icons’, and went ‘shopping’ in their multi-million dollar homes. As the Ring’s robberies continued, their popularity rose.

Victims of the break-ins include Paris Hilton, whose house they robbed at least 5 times. Paris didn’t notice the robberies until 2 million dollars worth of jewellry was stolen. Orlando Bloom also suffered the perils of the grabby hands, but he had enough to cop on to notice his stuff was gone.

The Bling Ring takes a serious look at celeb worshippers, the hangers-on, the desperadoes. The only problem being that these desperadoes were already rich, popular, and living the good life. So why start robbing? Well, the group considered Lynsay Lohan as ‘the ultimate conquest’, proving immediate need for time in the nut-house….
