“Waterford lad Brian McCartan’s one-man band is all about enticing, playful and bright sounds and tunes. His five-track debut EP will have you humming and wanting more… shimmering, chiming electropop” – Jim Carroll, The Ticket
“Imagine what Four Tet would make after waking up in a house on a hill on a tropical Island and opening the curtains.” – popgoestheradio
“… a positive blend of chirpy beats, sounding like hand claps and smiley faces, with a tremendously danceable element throughout. In short, the perfect soundtrack to a sunny day.” – Stop The Lights
“The Casanova Wave makes music that Wild Nothing would die for… I wasn’t expecting to fall for anything as quickly as I fell for this…. one of Ireland’s, brightest musical prospects” – The Point Of Everything
Hailing from Waterford, The Casanova Wave is the creative outlet of Brian McCartan. The Casanova Wave emerged onto the Irish music scene during the Autumn of 2010 and it wasn’t long before his unique style of music enraptured all who had the luck to encounter it. His performances and debut EP have won over the ears, hearts and dancing feet of the masses. The happy-go-lucky mix of warm electronica and fresh live instruments are complimented by an array of sounds, melodies, bouncing rhythms, bright guitars and pulsing synths.
The live shows are also fresh and energetic, with Brian performing as much of the music live as he can, switching from instrument to instrument as the music builds – including laptop, synth, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums. This fusion of instruments create a full pulsating and uplifting sound that one is defied not to dance to.
Mid-September 2010 saw the release of the self-titled The Casanova Wave EP which has been receiving rave reviews. Among these acclamations, included a much coveted mention in The Irish Times ‘Best Irish Acts of 2010′ list, an appearance at Whelans’ Ones To Watch 2011 festival and a listing in State magazine’s “Faces of 2011″ feature. The tracks provide an appropriate soundtrack to any sort of party, be it a hot Summer’s day or just to cheer up the dreariest of souls in the darkest depths of Winter.
